PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Start Training Dive Professionals! As a seasoned PADI Instructor, you have wisdom and experience to share with up-and-coming PADI leaders. And you know that continuing your education never ends.

As an IDC (Instructor Development Course) Staff Instructor, you help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth instructor-trainer knowledge & experience.

Because IDC Staff Instructors are an integral part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), you set the stage for moving on to PADI Course Director as you present topics in the IDC and help shape PADI Divemasters and Assistant Instructors into PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.

Many of dive center or resort management positions require this level of Instructor experience and training, making this an important step if you are considering a career in Dive Center or you want to open a dive shop or resort.

Course Prerequisites

• Teaching status PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)

• EFR (CPR & First Aid) Instructor

• Minimum age 18

What You Will Learn

You become a master of instructor-level dive theory, knowledge development teaching presentations, confined water teaching presentations & open water teaching presentations.

In addition to all the courses you can teach as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT), you can also:

• Teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses.

• Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).

• Assist PADI Course Directors in conducting instructor-level continuing education courses.

Performance Requirements

PADI scuba diving certification training is performance-based, not time-based. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Complete 4 Knowledge Development sessions.

• Successfully present one Knowledge Development teaching presentation.

• Successfully present one Confined Water (pool) teaching presentation.

• Successfully complete the dive skills assessment.

• Successfully complete the PADI Dive Theory exams.

• Successfully complete the PADI General Standards & Procedures exam.

• Successfully meet evaluation scoring parameters for Knowledge Development teaching presentations, Confined Water teaching presentations and Open Water teaching presentations.

• Audit a complete Instructor Development Course (IDC) ... or ... present all Knowledge Development presentations from the PADI Assistant Instructor course

Course Format

PADI IDC Staff Instructor courses include multiple classroom & pool training sessions. These are typically scheduled along with Instructor Development Courses (IDC), but can be conducted on other schedules, depending on the candidate's needs and availability.

Course Schedule & Cost

PADI IDC Staff Instructor courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP DivingPlease contact me for information regarding IDC Staff Instructor course training materials & equipment, schedules, costs and related matters.

NOTE: There are two options for completing IDC Staff Instructor training ... you do NOT need to audit an entire IDC ... we can organize an IDC Staff Instructor course to fit your schedule. Contact me for more info.
