PADI Digital Underwater Photographer

Capture beautiful images of the underwater environment & its inhabitants! Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties and the rise of digital underwater photography has made it easier and more fun than ever. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course gets you going quickly with today's modern digital equipment, whether you use a point-and-shoot snap camera or a sophisticated D-SLR like the pros.

Course Prerequisites

• PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent

• Minimum age 10

What You Will Learn

Underwater photography is a great way to relive the adventures you’ve had. Plus capture images to share with your friends and family. During the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course you will learn ...

• How to choose the right underwater camera system for you

• The PADI SEA method for getting great shots quickly

• The three primary principles for good underwater photos

• How to download, organize & back-up images, including how to view images using a method other than the camera's LCD screen

Performance Requirements

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty course certification training is typically conducted with a classroom & pool session, followed by an open water training dive. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Read the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer manual, watch the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer video and complete the Digital Underwater Photographer Knowledge Review included in your manual.

• Complete a confined water (typically a pool) Digital Underwater Photographer training dive with a PADI with a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Instructor.

• Complete an open water Digital Underwater Photographer training dive with a PADI with a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Instructor.

Course Format

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty courses are typically conducted with classroom session, which includes camera setup, photography techniques & image management, followed by a confined water (pool) dive using a digital underwater camera.

There is one open water training dive, which is typically conducted at a local dive site.

Course Schedule & Cost

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. Please check their websites for the most current PADI Digital Underwater Photographer training schedule and course costs.
