Specialty Instructor Course
Overview
Dive more, have more fun and teach your favorite subjects. PADI Specialty Instructor courses provide valuable teaching tips for meeting the requirements of the specialty course. Having five Specialty Instructor ratings is a prerequisite for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
PADI Ice Diver Specialty Instructor training covers how to organize, promote and conduct the PADI Ice Diver specialty course and emphasizes the value of specialty training to divers.
Course Prerequisites
• PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
• Minimum 10 ice dives
Note: This is a course exit requirement, dives may be completed following the instructor training course.

Performance Requirements
PADI Ice Diver Specialty Instructor course training is typically conducted with a short classroom session, followed by two open water training dives. To achieve PADI Ice Diver Specialty Instructor certification, you will need to:
• Demonstrate mastery of all knowledge development & water skill performance requirements for the PADI Ice Diver course.
• Present a knowledge development presentation from the PADI Ice Diver course outline.
• Conduct an open water teaching assignment and demonstrate all open water performance requirements for the PADI Ice Diver course.
Course Schedule & Cost
PADI Ice Diver Specialty Instructor courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. Please contact me to arrange your PADI Ice Diver Specialty Instructor training to fit your schedule. Open water ice dives are dependent on sufficient ice at the training site and are typically scheduled during mid-winter months.
If you are pursuing the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating, we can coordinate training for the five Specialty Instructor ratings that you will need to achieve the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
