PADI Trimix Gas Blender

Learn to prepare Trimix ... become a PADI Trimix Gas Blender! More & more divers are learning technical diving, including diving with rebreathers. This means the demand for Trimix fills is also increasing. As a result, there needs to be someone qualified to prepare the Trimix fills to meet this demand. This is where the PADI Trimix Gas Blender course comes in.

Course Prerequisites

• PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver or equivalent

• Minimum age 18

What You Will Learn

As a PADI Trimix Gas Blender, you will be trained to competently blend enriched air Nitrox and helium-blend gases including Trimix using one or more blending methods, allowing you to provide Nitrox, Trimix & other helium-blend gas mixes to appropriately certified divers. During the PADI Trimix Gas Blender course, you will learn to ...

• Blend enriched air Nitrox and helium blends including Trimix within one precent of the target mix as measured by oxygen content following accepted insdustry safety protocols and standards

• List the advantages & disadvantages of different blending methods

• Explain the potential hazards related to handling oxygen and how to manage those hazards

• Explain and/or demonstratethe steps for oxygen cleaning equipment & cleaning procedures

• Describe the requirements for oxygen service

Performance Requirements

PADI Trimix Gas Blender specialty course certification training is typically conducted in a classroom & at a blending station, including hands-on Nitrox & Trimix blending. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Read the PADI Gas Blender manual and complete the Review Questions included in the manual.

• Complete the classroom training session conducted by a PADI Trimix Gas Blender Instructor and pass the Gas Blender final exam.

• Successfully blend or assist in blending at least 4 Nitrox fills and at least 1 Trimix fill to an accuracy of plus or minus 1 percent of the desired blend based on oxygen content.

Course Format

PADI Trimix Gas Blender specialty courses are typically conducted in a classroom format with hands-on nitrox & trimix gas blending workshops at the fill station.

Course Schedule & Cost

PADI Trimix Gas Blender specialty courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. Please check their websites for the most current PADI Trimix Gas Blender training schedule and course costs.
