PADI Nitrox Gas Blender

Learn to prepare Nitrox ... become a PADI Nitrox Gas Blender! More & more people are diving with enriched air and this means the demand for enriched air fills is also increasing. In fact, the Enriched Air Nitrox Diver couse is one of PADI's most popular specialty diving courses. As a result, there needs to be someone qualified to prepare the Nitrox fills to meet this demand. This is where the PADI Nitrox Gas Blender course comes in.

Course Prerequisites

• PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver or equivalent

• Minimum age 18

What You Will Learn

As a PADI Nitrox Gas Blender, you must be familiar with the physical properties of oxygen, its various forms and purities, hazards and special handling requirements. The PADI Nitrox Gas Blender course will train you as a qualified nitrox gas blender, allowing you to provide nitrox gas mixes to appropriately certified divers. During the PADI Nitrox Gas Blender course, you will learn ...

• The physical properties of oxygen

• Hazards associated with oxygen

• Oxygen handling requirements

• Necessary oxygen cleaning equipment & cleaning procedures

• The five methods of obtaining the desired enriched air nitrox mix

How to calculate the required oxygen and/or bank mix required to achieve the desired blend within 1 percent

Performance Requirements

PADI Nitrox Gas Blender specialty course certification training is typically conducted in a classroom & at a nitrox blending station, including hands-on nitrox blending & oxygen cleaning workshops. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Read the PADI Nitrox Gas Blender manual and complete the Review Questions included in the manual.

• Complete the classroom training session conducted by a PADI Nitrox Gas Blender Instructor and pass the Nitrox Gas Blender final exam.

• Participate in the oxygen cleaning workshop.

• Successfully blend or assist in blending at least 5 nitrox fills to an accuracy of plus or minus 1 percent of the desired blend.

Course Format

PADI Nitrox Gas Blender specialty courses are typically conducted in a classroom format with hands-on nitrox gas blending & oxygen cleaning workshops.

Course Schedule & Cost

PADI Nitrox Gas Blender specialty courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. Please check their websites for the most current PADI Nitrox Gas Blender training schedule and course costs.
