Open Water Diver

Junior Open Water Diver

Learn to scuba dive! PADI Open Water Diver and Junior Open Water Diver courses are where you learn to scuba dive and become a certified scuba diver.

Course Prerequisites

Open Water Diver: Minimum age 15

Junior Open Water Diver: Minimum age 10

What You Will Learn

You will learn to scuba dive! Once certified, you are qualified to dive independently with your buddy to a depth of 60 ft (18m). How cool is that!

Performance Requirements

PADI scuba diving certification training is performance-based, not time-based. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Complete (5) Knowledge Development segments, including quizzes and final exam. This can be done in our classroom or through PADI eLearning online.

• Complete (5) Confined Water Dives and meet watermanship requirements (these are done in our pool).

• Complete (4) Open Water Dives.

Course Format

Open Water Diver courses are typically run with a weekend format. Knowledge Development sessions and Confined Water Dives are conducted one weekend. Open Water Dives are conducted on a subsequent weekend, typically (2) Open Water Dives per day.

Course Schedule & Cost

Open Water Diver courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. Please check their websites for the most current Open Water Diver training schedules and course costs.
