PADI Tec Trimix Instructor Course

 

Overview

Teach the most challenging open circuit technical diving courses ... PADI Tec Trimix 65 and PADI Tec Trimix. The PADI Tec Trimix Instructor course provides valuable teaching techniques for meeting the requirements of technical diving training in the PADI Tec Trimix 65 and Tec Trimix courses.

 

PADI Tec Trimix Instructor training covers how to organize, promote and conduct the PADI Tec Trimix 65 and Tec Trimix technical diving courses and emphasizes the value of learning to conduct multi-gas, accelerated decompression dives using helium blends to increase safety on dives to 90m/300ft.

 

Course Prerequisites

• PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (or a PADI Instructor with a higher rating)

• PADI Tec Deep Instructor

• PADI PADI Tec Trimix Diver (or equivalent rating)

 

What You Will Learn

The Tec Trimix Instructor course covers:

• PADI Tec Trimix 65 & Tec Trimix course purpose & goals

• PADI Tec Trimix 65 & Tec Trimix course standards & procedures, including instructor & student prerequisites, supervision & ratios

• PADI Tec Trimix 65 & Tec Trimix instructor & student equipment requirements

• How to conduct the PADI Tec Trimix 65 & Tec Trimix courses so that student divers can meet all performance requirements

 

Performance Requirements

PADI Tec Trimix Instructor course training is typically conducted with multiple classroom sessions and practical application workshops, combined with confined water and open water training dives. To achieve PADI Tec Trimix Instructor certification, you will need to:

 

Part 1

• Complete the PADI Tec Trimix & Tec Trimix Instructor Knowledge Reviews

• Successfully complete the PADI Tec Trimix final exam

• Successfully complete PADI Tec Trimix Practical Applications 1, 2 & 5

• Successfully complete PADI Tec Trimix Training Dives 1, 3, 5 & 7

 

Part 2

• Complete the Course Content Review with a Tec Trimix Instructor Trainer

• Successfully present 2 knowledge development presentations from the PADI Tec Trimix course

• Successfully conduct an assigned Tec Trimix Practical Application

• Successfully simulate teaching 2 skills from Tec Trimix Training Dives 1 or 2

• Successfully simulate the instructor role for Tec Trimix Dive 6, including dive planning, briefing and the dive itself

 

Certification Requirements

Before submitting your Tec Trimix Instructor application to PADI, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be a renewed PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer or PADI Instructor with a higher rating

• Be a PADI Tec Deep Instructor

• Be certified as a PADI Tec Trimix Diver or have a qualifying full Trimix certification from another training organization

• Have assisted with at least one PADI Tec Trimix course

• Have a minimum of 350 dives logged, with at least 50 stage decompression dives that had a maximum depth deeper than 40m/130ft beyond those dives required for technical diver certifications

• Have a minimum of 30 trimix dives logged deeper than 40m/130ft, with at least 10 trimix dives deeper than 50m/165ft using trimix with less than 21% oxygen

• Successfully completed the Tec Trimix Instructor Standards Exam and Tec Trimix Instructor Theory and Practical Application Exam
