Dive more, have more fun and teach your favorite subjects. PADI Specialty Instructor courses provide valuable teaching tips for meeting the requirements of the specialty course. Having five Specialty Instructor ratings is a prerequisite for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
NOTE: Peak Performance Buoyancy does not count toward the 5 Specialty Instructor ratings required to qualify for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Instructor training covers how to organize, promote and conduct the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty course and emphasizes the value of specialty training to divers.
Course Prerequisites
• PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) or Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
Note: IDC/OWSI candidates may participate in PADI Specialty Instructor training courses, but may only apply for Specialty Instructor certification after passing an IE.

Performance Requirements
PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Instructor course training is typically conducted with a short classroom session, followed by one open water training dive. To achieve PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Instructor certification, you will need to:
• Demonstrate mastery of all knowledge development and water skill performance requirements for the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course.
• Present a knowledge development presentation from the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course outline.
• Conduct an open water teaching assignment and demonstrate all open water performance requirements for the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course.
