Specialty Instructor Course

Dive more, have more fun and teach your favorite subjects. PADI Specialty Instructor courses provide valuable teaching tips for meeting the requirements of the specialty course. Having five Specialty Instructor ratings is a prerequisite for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor training covers how to organize, promote and conduct the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty course and emphasizes the value of specialty training to divers.

Course Prerequisites

• PADI Divemaster (DM), Assistant Instructor (AI) or Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) 

• Minimum 10 digital underwater photography dives

Note: This is a course exit requirement, dives may be completed following the instructor training course.

Performance Requirements

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor course training is typically conducted with a short classroom session, followed by one open water training dive. To achieve PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor certification, you will need to:

• Demonstrate mastery of all knowledge development and water skill performance requirements for the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course.

• Present a knowledge development presentation from the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course outline.

• Conduct an open water teaching assignment and demonstrate all open water performance requirements for the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course.
