PADI Tec Trimix Diver

Ready for the outer edge of technical diving? The PADI Tec Trimix Diver course takes experienced tec divers and turns them into extreme divers who go deeper and visit pristine sites where few others will ever go. During the course, you’ll make dives as deep as 90m/300ft ... once you earn this tough certification, there are few limits. Your training teaches you to build experience gradually and you do it because you've made it this far and have more exploring to do.

As a PADI Tec Trimix diver, you are qualified to:

• Use Helium mixes, EANx and oxygen for multiple stop decompression dives as deep as 90m/300ft using standard open circuit, multiple cylinder tec diving equipment

• Use two or more decompression gases (nitrox and/or oxygen) to accelerate or add conservatism to your decompression

NOTE: The PADI Tec Trimix course is conducted in full technical diving gear.

Course Prerequisites

• Certified as a PADI Tec 50 diver or PADI Tec Trimix 65 Diver or provide a qualifying certification from another training organization

• Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or provide a qualifying certification from another training organization ... students who meet this prerequisite through a qualifying certification must provide proof of training in CPR & First Aid within the previous two years

• Minimum age 18

• Minimum of at least 150 logged dives

What You Will Learn

During the Tec Trimix course, you will learn how to conduct deeper decompression dives to 90m/300ft with trimix blends in open circuit technical diving gear and using travel gas and two or more decompression gases (nitrox or oxygen) to accelerate decompression, including:

• Motor skils for technical trimix diving

• Hazards and risks of trimix diving

• Responding to potential emergencies

• Thinking like a trimix diver

Performance Requirements

PADI Tec Trimix course training is typically conducted with 3 classroom training sessions and 5 practical application sessions, followed by 6-9 training dives. There are reading assignments & Knowledge Reviews required to be completed prior to the start of the Tec Trimix course. To achieve certification, you will need to:

• Complete the Tec Trimix reading assignments & Knowledge Reviews provided by your Tec Trimix instructor.

• Complete classroom training sessions with your Tec Trimix instructor & successfully complete the Tec Trimix final exam.

• Complete (5) Tec Trimix practical application sessions with your Tec Trimix instructor.

• Complete (6-9) Tec Trimix training dives with your Tec Trimix instructor ... number of dives depends on prior certifications and experience.

Course Format

The PADI Tec Trimix course is typically conducted over a minimum of 6+ days with classroom & practical application sessions on the first three mornings, followed by training dives at local dive sites. The majority of training dives are actual trimix decompression dives, including some dives using travel gas and 2-3 decompression gases for accelerated decompression.

Course Schedule & Cost

PADI Tec Trimix Diver courses are conducted through the dive stores that I work with, including VIP Diving. PADI Tec Trimix Diver training is scheduled on demand. Course cost include training materials, backmount doubles with isolator manifold or sidemount tanks, deco bottles & gases up to 32% nitrox. Richer oxygen mixes for decompression and helium mixes are additional.
