PADI Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification Diver
Know your sea turtles! Diving in the Caribbean Sea exposes you to 5 different species of sea turtles. Knowing sea turtle species, their habitats and behaviors adds to your diving experience. As a diver, you can anticipate sea turtle behavior, look for unique species and contribute to valuable sea turtle surveys to help monitor sea turtle populations in your favorite diving locations.
Course Prerequisites
• PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Minimum age 10
What You Will Learn
You will learn to identify the 5 specific species of sea turtles found in the Caribbean Sea, including how to including habitats and behaviours. The course focuses on sea turtle species found in the local diving environment.
Performance Requirements
PADI Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification Diver specialty course certification training is typically conducted with a brief classroom session followed by two open water training dives. To achieve certification, you will need to:
• Participate in the classroom training session and complete the Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification Knowledge Review provided by your instructor.
• Complete (2) Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification training dives with a PADI Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification Instructor.
Course Format
PADI Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification specialty courses are typically conducted at local dive sites. Your classroom session & two PADI Caribbean Sea Turtle Identification Diver specialty training dives can be completed in one day.
