PADI Discover Rebreather
Curious to know more about rebreathers ... join me for a PADI Discover Rebreather experience! The PADI Discover Rebreather experience program gives you the opportunity to try diving with a rebreather before committing to a full rebreather training course.
NOTE: PADI rebreather programs are rebreather-specific. We will be using a Hollis Prism2 rebreather for the Discover Rebreather experience.
Prerequisites
• PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• 15 logged dives
• Minimum age 18
What You Will Learn
During the Discover Rebreather experience, you will learn about rebreathers and the differences in diving techniques compared to standard open circuit scuba diving, including:
• Components of a typical rebreather & and how they function
• Buoyancy control with rebreathers
• Diving techniques & procedures with rebreathers
• Bailout valve use
Program Format
The PADI Discover Rebreather program is typically conducted in a 1/2 day session with a brief explanation of the components & function of the Hollis Prism2 rebreather, including a complete pre-dive checklist, followed by a brief pool session to get familiar with rebreather use, then an open water dive at a local dive site. The open water dive has a maximum depth of 5m/15ft.
